Sixty Eight Sessions
Sixty Eight People provides free training, networking and support to hospitality operators in the North West.
We have produced a series of small-group events, launching in September, which aim to guide managers, owners and operators through various key and current topics affecting the market. Some events will bring operators together to discuss best practice and others will invite managers to develop skills such as coaching.
Beginning with ‘0-90’, this session is aimed at tackling short term employee turnover, currently one of the industry’s most expensive problems. This session brings owners and operators together to discuss best-practice on-boarding systems encouraging staff engagement and longevity. Not only is this key in forming stable teams and great customer experience, it is also instrumental in bringing down training costs in the long run. We will have representation from over 15 of the norths best employers and we can’t wait to hear what comes out of it.
Other sessions in the series include ‘Coaching in Hospitality’ and ‘Running Effective 121s’. These events will be aimed at managers looking to up-skill themselves and progress within the industry.
Responding to our clients and candidates needs to offer better workplaces and inspired by Andy Burnham and Night Tsar Sacha Lord to bolster the night time economy of Manchester, we will offer the courses free of charge to anyone who holds management position in restaurants, clubs, hotels, bars, coffee shops and other hospitality outlets.
Our founder Abi Dunn, whose 20 year career in operations and people development will host the events, inviting world class trainers to provided much of the content. She feels certain that her input can make significant change in the city.
‘I know how hard it is to make time to develop yourself and learn from others when day to day life takes over. Constant development and innovation is essential and I’m hopeful that these sessions will give everyone involved something to take back and apply in their sites’
An initial event focusing on Mental Health in the workplace in conjunction with Hospitality Action attracted managers from NWTC, Mission Mars and Junkyard Golf and the series will continue with a session on psychometric profiling and the application of results to create cohesive teams.
All the training programmes will be announced via the Facebook Group ’Sixty Eight Society’ and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Access to the group is granted via moderation and details will be posted soon.
The networking events for operators will be invite only but operators can get in touch via our website if they feel these may benefit your business
